Dedicated to the memory of Eve Ward

This site is a tribute to Eve Ward. Eve was born in Hillingdon on 19th October 1950 and died at home in Watford on 11th April 2020. She is much loved and will always be remembered by those who knew her.

Eve was a devoted wife to John for 36 years, a loving mother to Barney and Melanie and a wonderful sister to her brothers Colin, Alan and Terry. As well as that, Eve was a proud step-mother to Ange and Jo, an aunt and a cousin to many. She had many fabulous friends and loved going for walks and pottering in the garden. She was an artist, a sculptor, an avid reader and a collector of many, many things.

She was a great animal lover and had many pets, particularly cats, and a tortoise for 22 years.

She had spent many hours over the years researching her family tree, of which we are all still in awe, and she made sure she communicated regularly with her new-found relatives.

Eve had a great sense of humour, with a quick, dry wit but was also feisty and opinionated and was never one to keep feelings to herself. She had bravery and strength in fighting her illness for twenty years. We will miss her more than words can express.

We would like to thank Peace Hospice Care for helping Eve in her last weeks by providing her with kindness and dignity at home. They assisted us in so many ways and we cannot thank them enough for all their hard work and endeavours. They are truly a wonderful team of people.

If you would care to contribute a donation to the Peace Hospice as a thank you for their unstinting work in Eve's memory, it would be much appreciated.

Thoughts

I am so glad that Eve met my Dad and I’m thankful for the part she has played in my life over the past forty plus years, and they have given me a fantastic brother and a loving sister. I’m grateful I was able to spend some time with her in those last few weeks although I never really said goodbye because I didn’t know it would be the last time. However we did manage to spend an hour or so in the garden she so loved in the first warm rays of the year’s sunshine (me - making sure not to step in her line of the sun to steal it from her!) We chatted about life, love, gardens, birds and memories. As always, conversations were not short with Eve, she was so fully immersed. She was a great listener and always interested in what was going on in my life and in life in general. I will miss her loving support and absorbing conversations, may she rest in peace x x

Not sure what to say, other than Eve will be hugely missed with many many memories. Eve has always been in my life (50 years) and Grandmother to my children Ryan and Sky. Eve and I shared our views on Spirit, Spirituality, Healing and a love of Crystal's. Unfortunately due to Lockdown and shielding I couldn't be with her in the last month of her life or be there to support Dad, Ange, Barney and Mel and likewise I sadly won't be able to make the funeral tomorrow. But my Love, Thoughts and Healing will be with you all. Jo - one of Eve's Step-daughters

Happy memories of Eve. What a battle she had and was determined to make as much as she could out of her life. She told me how much she appreciated all that her family had done for her and had been for her. A lovely neighbour and friend. Rosemary and Roger
